fly-fishing adventure in Argentine Patagonia

About Us

About Us

Emanuel Medina, founder of Manso Waters Lodge

I grew up fishing in these waters with my father from a young age, getting to know every bay, stretch, channel, insect hatch, and the hidden coast of northern Argentine Patagonia.

I am the founder and owner of Trout Bariloche, the best-known and most established local fishing agency in the Bariloche region. Its roots lie in my family and their great passion for fly fishing.

I am also the founder and owner of Patagonia Trout & Fly, a fishing agency that offers trips throughout Patagonia, departing from Argentina and Chile. We also offer trips to northern Argentina and Buenos Aires for golden dorado fishing.

Manso Waters Lodge was born from the desire to welcome anglers from all over the world and guide them to little-known, pristine, and uncrowded fishing spots that only a local, dedicated angler can access.

Manso Waters Lodge and these two agencies work together to reach more anglers and fly-fishing enthusiasts so they can enjoy the lodge's beautiful facilities and the amazing fishing in the surrounding area.

We have grown alongside our team of guides over the years, and today we are a solid team ready to provide you with the best service in all of Bariloche.

Our most important points and foundations

Together with the family traditions that created the first agency "Trout Bariloche" and current innovations and travel experience, they formed an operational base that works and keeps improving; here I tell you a little more.

  • Respect and education about the environment. We prioritize minimizing plastic use, avoiding littering, and caring for all our equipment to ensure its longevity.

  • We practice catch-and-release fishing to support local wildlife and its reproductive and growth cycles. It’s also our livelihood and is very important to the surrounding communities and us.

  • We listen to each of our guests before, during, and after their experience with us. We strive to be thoughtful, compassionate, and transparent, providing confidence and comfort throughout their stay.

  • Every year, we invest in details both big and small. It’s essential that we continue to improve and grow, whether in our facilities, equipment, or logistics.

  • We provide support, training, and opportunities for new local guides who are interested in caring for their area and leading fly-fishing trips. That’s why we have an excellent fly-fishing school with practical training on the Manso River, and our base is Manso Waters Lodge.
